Begin the 2nd day of your 8 Day Jordan Private Tour with a delicious breakfast at your 5-Star hotel in Amman, and then at the time agreed with your tour manager, you will be picked up and taken see the remarkably well-preserved ruins of Jerash, an ancient Roman provincial city. The minute you set eyes on this place, it will immediately remind you of the Roman Empire which ruled this region so many years ago. Nowhere else in the world will you find such an impressive and such a well-preserved example of Roman Architecture, other than in Italy. Among the top highlights at this site, are the city’s colonnaded street the oval plaza the Nymphaeum, and the Temple of Artemis. After you have had ample time to explore and admire Jerash, you will then be driven to see Umm Qais, the remnants of another ancient town. While not as well-preserved as Jerash, and admittedly, not as impressive, Umm Qais is still an amazing place to visit. There is a lot to see, and from its hilltop location, you are afforded absolutely amazing views of the Jordan Valley and the Sea of Galilee. Gadara, as it was called in biblical times, is also the place where the famous biblical Gadarene miracle took place. Today there is also a good restaurant at the site where you can sit out on the terrace and admire the spectacular views while you are enjoying your meal. After a wonderful day of sightseeing, you can sit back and relax in air-conditioned comfort while you are being driven back to your 5-Star hotel in Amman.
Day 3 - Madaba and Mount Nebo Sightseeing Tour
Today once again begins with a superb breakfast at your hotel, and then at the time agreed with your tour manager, they will arrive to assist you with check-out, and then you will head out for another wonderful day of sightseeing. First, you will be taken to Madaba, the city of mosaics, where you will enjoy a visit to the magnificent Greek Orthodox Basilica of St. George. This truly amazing church still functions as one of Jordan’s main places of Christian worship, but it is most famous for its ancient 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land. This remarkably accurate mosaic map consists of more than 2 million vividly colored stone, all of which were sourced locally. Next, you will be taken visit Mount Nebo and an old monastery. Mount Nebo is, of course, the place where Moses first cast his gaze upon the Promised Land before he died, and many people believe that he was later buried on Mount Nebo as well. For many visitors, the highlight of this visit is the incredible view you get when you reach the old monastery. From this vantage point, you get a splendid view of the Jordan Valley the Dead Sea, and even parts of the Holy Land far in the distance. After enjoying ample time at Mount Nebo and the monastery, you will then be driven to Petra where you will be spending the 3rd night of your Jordan Private Tour at a 4-Star luxury hotel. Once you have checked in, you will have the rest of the day to yourself, to enjoy as you wish.
Day 4 - The Unforgettable Rose Red City of Petra
As usual, today will start with a fabulous breakfast being served at your hotel, and then shortly after you have finished eating, you will be picked up, and you will be taken to see Jordan’s premier sightseeing attraction, the ancient city of Petra. This will probably be the biggest highlight of your Private Jordan Tour, but Petra tours typically involve a lot of walking, so it is highly recommended that you eat a good breakfast beforehand. Also known as the Rose Red City of Petra, this indescribable site never fails to astonish and amaze, no matter how many times you visit. Just picture an 80 to 200-meter deep gorge running more than 1000 meters through desert rock, with an entire city carved into the sides of the gorge. From the visitor center, it is about a 700-meter walk to the Siq entrance, and the magic of your tour begins in earnest. The Ancient Nabatean Arabs carved hundreds of places into the rock faces, including tombs bath houses storerooms vaults, burial chambers, and the site’s most impressive structure of all, the Treasury. There is no way anyone would be able to see everything at this site in a single day, but you can be sure that your tours will see you visiting all of the best features. You will also enjoy a wonderful ride on horseback while you are there, which in itself is a wonderful experience, given the spectacular setting. With so much sightseeing and so much walking behind you, you will be taken back to your hotel where you can enjoy a well-deserved rest and a good night’s sleep.
Day 5 - Wadi Rum Desert Adventure and Overnight Camping
Wake up and enjoy a splendid breakfast at your hotel in Petra, and then shortly after you have finished eating, you will be assisted with check-out, and you will embark on a short 45-minute journey to Wadi Rum, a protected and very beautiful desert area. Wadi Rum was originally made famous by the extremely popular movie, Lawrence of Arabia. Today it is very popular among climbers, hikers, and other outdoor enthusiasts who want an authentic Bedouin experience in a desert setting which never fails to astonish and amaze at every turn. During your time at Wadi Rum, you will ample opportunity to admire the raw beauty of nature, and you will also enjoy an amazing drive in an open 4×4 Bedouin truck to explore some of the area’s most impressive sand dunes, and also to see some ancient Nabatean rock inscriptions. Enjoy a good lunch and a very memorable dinner in the desert, and then spend some time relaxing under a star-studded desert sky before retiring for the night at the wonderful 3-Star Sun City Wadi Rum Camp.
Day 6 - Visit Bethany and the Dead Sea
Enjoy a fine breakfast at Wadi Rum, and then you will be heading to Bethany, the place where Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist. Among Catholics, this is one of the 3 most religiously significant places of worship. After spending some time here, you will then be driven to the Dead Sea. Despite its name, the Dead Sea is, in fact, a vast lake, rather than an ocean. The immediate area surrounding the Dead Sea is approximately 400 meters below sea level, making it the lowest place on earth. The Dead Sea is of course most famous for its incredibly mineral-rich mud and its incredibly salty water which makes it easy for people to float effortlessly on the water. The mud and sediment are rich in minerals which are used in various industries, including the skincare industry; the agricultural industry and the pharmaceutical industry. The natural beauty and serenity of the area are more than enough reason to visit, but the area has largely become a sort of niche health spar hot-site that attracts millions of visitors every year. Today, there is no shortage of accommodation, so this night of your Jordan Private Tour will be spent at a local 5-Star Hotel where luxury and comfort are the order of the day.
Day 7 - Leisure Time at the Dead Sea
You have traveled all this way to visit the Dead Sea, so why not enjoy it to its full extent. Wake up and enjoy a superb breakfast at your hotel, and then you will have the day to yourself to enjoy as you wish. You can spend the day at your luxury hotel, but we highly recommend that you head out and enjoy yourself.
Day 8 - End of Your Jordan Private Tour
After you have had ample time to enjoy a delicious 5-Star breakfast at your Dead Sea hotel, you will be assisted with check-out, and then you will be driven to Amman, where you will be taken directly to the airport in time for your flight back home. At the airport, your tour manager will be more than happy to assist you in any way they can, and then it will be time for goodbyes so that you can proceed through immigration.
