Today begins with a wonderful 5-Star breakfast, and then at the time agreed with your tour manager, you will be picked up, and you will head to view some amazing historical attractions. First, you will be taken to see Jerash and ancient Roman provincial city. Jerash was continuously inhabited for around 6,500 years, and it is considered to be one of the world’s best and most well-preserved examples of ancient Roman architecture. After the city was abandoned, it eventually became completely buried under the desert sand which effectively helped to preserve the many structures which you can see today. Next, you will head to Ajloun Castle, an ancient fortress which played a significant role in the defeat of the Crusaders more than 8 centuries ago. Built in 1184 AD to help defend the region’s iron mines, Ajloun Castle went on to the primary defender of the three main trade routes between Jordan and Syria. In fact, the Crusaders tried to capture the castle for decades but were never successful. This is a remarkable attraction which never fails to impress those who visit. Your last stop of the day will be at Umm Qais, the ruins of an ancient Greco-Roman city. It is also the site of the famous Gadarene swine miracle mentioned in the Bible. Due to this site’s wonderful hilltop position, visitors are also treated to some breathtaking views of the Sea of Galilee and the Golan Heights. Finally, with so much sightseeing behind you, you will be able to sit back and relax while you are being driven back to your 5-Star hotel in Amman. Many of our clients opt to spend the rest of the day and evening at the hotel, although we do recommend heading out into town on your own to explore the area and to enjoy a nice meal.

Day 3 - Madaba and Mount Nebo Tour, and on to the Dead Sea
The 3th day of your Jordan Adventure Tour begins in earnest after enjoying another great breakfast at your hotel, when you will be picked up for another day of non-stop sightseeing. First, you will be driven to Madaba, the city of mosaics. There is still much to see and do today, so your stop at Madaba only entails a visit to the strikingly magnificent Greek Orthodox Basilica of St. George which is famous for a 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land. The church that one sees today was towards the end of the 19th century, but it stands in the exact same place where the original 6th-century church stood. The mosaic, for which the church is famous for, consists of more than 2 million colored stones, despite the fact that it is only a portion of the original mosaic.
