The breathtaking view of Sevanavank along the world's 2nd largest high altitude lake Sevan, the beauty of Tatev and the world's longest ropway, the magnificent view of Armenian’s Holy Mountain : Ararat will make you wonder about the country's antiquity. Armenian culture will astonish you with the world’s oldest manuscripts in Matenadaran, House of Opera and Ballet, Republic Square as well as Armenian famous Cross Stones called Khachqars. Your tour will include a visit to the World’s famous Ararat Brandy Factory, village Areni with it’s traditional wine yards and more.

Itinerary

Day 1 : Yerevan (arrival day)
Arrival in Zvartnots international airport. Meeting with company representative. Transfer to the hotel. Check in and overnight in Yerevan.

Day 2 : City tour/Ejmiatsin/Zvartnots Yerevan
Yerevan is one of the oldest cities in the world, 29 years older than Rome. Usually they call Yerevan "a pink city" because of the color of the stone that the most of the buildings are built with. Visit the remarkable Matenadaran Library including 17,000 rare manuscripts, one of the world’s oldest repositories of Greek, Persian and Arabic manuscripts. Have a small city tour in Yerevan by having a walk in Republic square, Mashtots Avenue, House of Opera and Ballet named after Alexander Spendiaryan, Park Cascade and Cafesjian center of the Arts. After enjoying the old city of Yerevan, you'll have an excursion to the centuries-old monuments Ejmiatsin and Zvartnots listed on UNESCO World Heritage list. Zvartnots (7-10th cc.) - a Temple of Vigil Forces. The Cathedral of Ejmiatsin (303) is an official residence of Armenian Catholicos. Visit Machanents Art School. There you can have master classes (make pottery, rug weaving, painting, as well as making Armenian dishes). Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 3 : Yerevan/Khor Virap/Areni/Noravank Yerevan
Breakfast. A trip to Khor Virap (4-18th cc.) the importance of which is connected with Gregory the Illuminator, who introduced Christianity in Armenia. Here you can enjoy the spectacular view of the sacred Ararat Mountain - an immortal symbol of Armenia. Continue the tour to Areni. The village Areni is famous for its endemic type of grape and tasty wine. The oldest winery has been found in Areni and you will also have a chance to see it. Areni is also famous for the world’s oldest leather shoe. The final point is Noravank Monastic Complex of XII century situated among amazing sheer rocks on the bench of a twisty gorge. Drive back to Yerevan. Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 4 : Free day
Breakfast. You can have an optional tour in Tatev Monastery (9-13cc), a former center for the sciences and art, where many famous Armenians lived and worked centuries ago. The Tatev complex consists of three churches, a refectory, a library, a vault and several residences. Magnificent canyons surround the monastery. Here you will have a beautiful excursion to this historic monastery by the one of the world’s longest non-stop reversible aerial tramway, an unforgettable route to Armenia’s medieval cultural complex.

Day 5 : Yerevan/Garni/Geghard/Yerevan
Breakfast. Take a trip to Garni. You will walk along the canyon, by the beautiful columnar basalt, 9th century stone bridge over the Azat River to Garni the Pagan Temple, built in the 1st Century AD. In 1679 it was destroyed by an earthquake. In the 1975 the Temple was restored. Geghard Monastery which is listed on UNESCO World Heritage sites along with Azat river will facinate you with it's unique architecture, ancient buildings and nature, which is so ideal, that it feels like pictures are taken on natural portrait background rather than in real flora and fauna.

Day 6 : Yerevan/Sevan/Dilijan/Goshavank/Yerevan
Breakfast. A tour to Lake Sevan - the Pearl of Armenia. The Lake is the highest sweet water lake in the Caucasus (2000m above sea level) and is one of the prides of Armenians. It is also rich with different types of fishes especially Trout. It has become a well-known vacation spot for long years. (Optional) Walk to Sevanavank monastery. From its height a beautiful view of lake Sevan will be admired. Then you will continue your tour to Dilijan. It is a famous SPA town just a few km-s away from Sevan. The uniqueness of it's nature and architecture will be of high interest. Visit Goshavank Monastery which is situated in a beautiful forest. Here you can also see the most famous and unique Armenian Khachqar (Cross stone). Drive back to Yerevan. Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 7 : Departure from Yerevan
Check-out. Transfer to the airport.
