Day 1: Arrive at Leh
Welcome at the airport from where you’ll be transferred to your hotel in private vehicle. Check-in at the hotel. Acclimatizing to the altitude is very important part of journey before doing any activity so we take rest and venture out to the city market in evening for a casual stroll (on your own). Don’t exert your body if you are feeling tired at any time during the day. Return to hotel in evening for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Local sight-seeing in Leh
After breakfast at the hotel start your journey to Leh – Srinagar highway. The drive further is one of the most spectacular journeys you will have. From the mountains formed by amalgamation of various types and textures of rocks to the dazzling Zanskar Valley, accompanying you all along the journey the white snow clad peaks, this route gives you an absolute picturesque landscape. Head to visit the Magnetic hill, Pathar Sahib Gurudwara, Hall of fame and confluence point. Return to Leh in the evening for dinner and overnight stay. *Optional - White Water River Rafting in Zanskar River at Nemo (make some cherishing memories).
Day 3: Leh - Enroute Khardungla - Nubra Valley
After breakfast at the hotel, brace yourself for the splendid drive over the mighty Khardung La – the 2nd highest motorable pass in the world at a height of 5602 M/ 18,380 ft. Over the route, the road dramatically plunges, and Shyok and Nubra Rivers unfold magically. You move on via Diskit to reach the white sands of Hunder. After freshening up, visit the Diskit monastery, which is believed to be the largest and oldest monastery in Nubra valley, and enjoy the sunset. Dinner and overnight stay in Nubra.
Day 4: Nubra - Turtuk - Nubra (3 hrs. Journey - one way)
Post breakfast, we’ll drive further north; the valley starts closing in dramatically as we pass the IAF base at Thoise driving through some fantastic scenery. At around noon, we’ll reach the picturesque border village of Turtuk which technically falls in Baltistan- the Balti region of Pakistan & was annexed by India during the 1971’ war. Here you’ll get the chance to interact with the locals - the whole feel is like being in Pakistan but rest assured the locals are very friendly & patriotic towards India. The wonderfully warm & hospitable locals with their cherubic European looks, especially the kids are so adorable, they might take your heart away. Get your hands on some delicious apricots which are major source of income for the locals while enjoying the magnificent view of K2 peak and the vistas when you go on walks in the surrounding region. Return to Nubra in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Nubra - Pangong Tso via Shyok / Warila (6-7 hrs. Journey)
Post breakfast, begin your journey for the day, exploring the various villages of Nubra Valley. Retrace your steps past Diskit, to go to Khalsar. Walk your way to the ancient Gompa. Don’t forget to pack a lunch. Now drive the mound of earthen monastic dwellings, crowned by the Gompa. The valley is blessed with a beautiful stream flowing through it, originating from the lake, giving a greenish tincture to the otherwise dry landscape around. Apart from flora this area is rich in fauna too. You can see a lot of Himalayan Marmots around the area. However, the main attraction of this circuit is the grand Pangong Tso, which you would reach by noon. The mesmerizing beauty and the fantastic view of Tso places it a league above anything you have seen so far. Overnight stay in Pangong.
Day 6: Pangong to Saboo village via Changla Pass (6 hrs. Journey)
Wake up lazy morning. Check-out the camps after breakfast and drive your way back to Leh. On the way back, make a stop over at Changla Pass, Sindhu Ghat and Shey, Hemis and Thiksey Monastery – the most powerful monasteries considered in Ladakh region followed by Druk Padma School. Now continue your journey towards Saboo village. Reach Saboo in the evening. Check-in at Saboo resorts - Step into the balcony and let your spirits soar free with the lofty mountains. Day 7: Day Reserved for Adventure: Mountain Biking
Bid the fairyland goodbye. After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll head to Leh - check-in at the hotel and have some rest. In afternoon, we’ll head to the market area where mountain bikes will be provided to you from where we’ll head to Shanti Stupa. Bask in the peace amidst this hilltop Stupa and revel in the panoramic view of the city. Return to Leh in the evening, hand over your mountain bikes, and head to market area to collect some souvenirs if you want to. Visit the Leh Palace to study history about Ladakh if you’re interested. Return to hotel in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8: Bid the fairy land good bye
Check-out the hotel after breakfast and you’ll be transferred to airport to board the flight back to home.
