Day 1. Welcome to Manchester!
After your flight to Manchester, pick up your rental car and make your way to your accommodation in York. Once settled, head over to Clifford's Tower and hike the short path you'll be treated to panoramic views of the old Viking City below!
Day 2. York
Spend the day exploring the secrets of this historic city today! Pay a visit to Northern Europe's largest Gothic cathedral, York Minster; you can spend hours getting lost in its priceless display of intricate medieval stained glass. You can also dive deep into the city's Viking heritage with a visit to the Jorvik Viking Center, or pay a visit to the National Railway Museum, which will transport you to a haven for train fans. After a day of sightseeing, relax with a spot of tea and pastries, perhaps at the 16th-century parlor at Gray's Court.
Day 3. York - Windermere
Make your way west to Windermere, located at the heart of the Lake District National Park.

Embark on a full-day tour exploring England's famous Lake District renowned for being the “most beautiful corner of England.” Enjoy views of the magnificent scenery of mountains, valleys and lakes from the south to the north. The tour includes a lake cruise (during high season, April through October), a visit to the 4,000 year-old Castlerigg Stone Circle set high on the fells, and time in Keswick for lunch. Day 5. Windermere - Edinburgh
Drive north until you cross the Scottish border today, continuing to Edinburgh. Drop off your rental car and get settled at your hotel, then take a walk over to Edinburgh Castle, and enjoy sweeping views of the city below. In the evening, you may want to go to a nearby pub and treat yourself to a glass of Scottish whisky (scotch) - the perfect way to celebrate the beginning of your adventure in Scotland's capital city!
Day 6. Edinburgh
Enjoy a unique walking tour like no other today, where you'll discover the Secrets of the Royal Mile! After your tour, spend some time exploring the winding roads of the Medieval Mile; stop for a bite at one of the many traditional pubs and restaurants, perhaps even treat yourself to a serving of haggis!
